Brattleboro Station

Enthusiasm is building to renovate the Brattleboro train station, and to improve connections and to make enhancements to the multi-modal transit system. The station, located just steps from the center of downtown, provides a vital transportation link with Amtrak. NZV helped organize with the Vermont Rail Action Network, a community-dialogue. The Town, Amtrak and VTrans continued planning, and are now pleased to announce plans for a new Amtrak station.

The town is more than excited to revitalize the station with Amtrak and others, as an economic driver for downtown and the greater region.

The groundwork is in place, and the dozens of members representing business, organizations, and government offices will continue to plan for its new station arrival.

Other communities actively working in a volunteer capacity to assist VTrans, Amtrak and others in making station improvements include Vergennes (completed), Montpelier, Essex Junction and Northfield.

NZV is supportive and encourages all communities to continue to promote public transit, ridesharing and vanpooling. Everything you need to know: www.connectingcommuters.org.
